The mobility sector is in a time of unprecedented transformation.
As urban cores grow in density, more people now need to move around a city than ever before. However, current urban transportation options are not cutting it.
People are increasingly frustrated by driving due to traffic congestion, air pollution, costs of operating a car, and lack of exercise. Meanwhile, many people are afraid to cycle, don’t like overcrowded transit systems, and find taxis and ride-hailing face the same issues as driving.
An opportunity has opened for new mobility options to solve these growing problems. Mobility issues are not going away any time soon, as urban mobility is becoming one of the major challenges of the 21st century.
A three-wheeled, electric-assist, enclosed velomobile sharing service.
Flexible personal transportation for a city.
VeloMetro’s product is twofold: the velomobile and the accompanying Veemo sharing service.
As an enclosed 3-wheeled pedal-assist vehicle, the velomobile offers the comforts of a car with the functionality and freedom of a bicycle. Veemo is a free-floating ‘one-way’ shared service that offers the convenience and flexibility of renting out a velomobile at any time, for as long as needed.
VeloMetro sells mobility as a service for short trips around a city using a new platform of connected, enclosed electric-assist bicycles.
SHARING SERVICE MODEL
We see a market sweet spot for micro-mobility in the current transportation landscape. A space between car share and bike share, where lightweight pedal-electric vehicles can fundamentally outperform the automobile and bicycle in urban areas in consumer value, economics, and the achievement of liveable cities.
SHARED MOBILITY COMPETITION
Alternatives to car ownership by trip length.
VEEMO PILOT 2018
Veemo launched a public fleet of 5 velomobiles at the University of British Columbia. Students, staff, and residents rented Veemo velomobiles by the minute to get around campus.
VeloMetro’s team is well-positioned for success, with over 30 years of electric vehicle engineering experience, extending to automotive design, batteries, electronics, and online interfaces. Members of the team and advisors bring years of shared mobility experience to their roles at VeloMetro.
VeloMetro Mobility is currently raising a $9.5M round at an $11.4M pre-money valuation. We seek accredited investors who are passionate about redefining the future of urban transportation. We have a minimum investment size of $25k at this time.
